By ruling of Energy regulation bureau (ERU) number 7/2007 from 20.11.2007 the founder is allowed to sell all the produced electric current to the distribution network. For 2009 the buying rate for direct supply was set at 12.89 Kc/kWh (power plant up to 30kW output) and 12.79 Kc/kWh (power plant over 30kW). Also, the founder can use the power for their own use and return excess energy to the network. For that a so called Green bonus can be earned for systems put into operation after 1.1.2009, according to the ruling by ERU number 8/2008 that comes to 11.91 Kc/kWh (power plant up to 30 kW) and 11.81 Kc/kWh (power plant over 30 kW). These prices are guaranteed with compulsory purchase of produced electricity for 20 years from activation date, adjusted by up to 4% a year. Refund of produced solar energy is regulated by legislative act about renewable energies 458/ 2000 Sb. and notice ERÚ. An indispensable criteria for the realisation of a photovoltaic power plant is the income-tax exemption for 5 years from activation date.

Ecological contribution

Contribution of photovoltaic energy sources to the preservation of climate and environment is indispensable. Conversion of solar energy to electricity is ecologically clean, doesn't produce any toxic waste, gas, ashes or noise. One kilowatt of installed output of photovoltaic system saves app. 850 kg CO2 emissions a year. Energy invested to photovoltaic cell manufacture will be recovered in 3 to 4 years at long and almost maintenance-free longevity over 30 years. Distribution network operators are bound by law to buy energy produced by photovoltaic systems for price given by Energy Regulation Bureau (ERU) for 20 years from start of production. After this time photovoltaic system can still be used for coverage of own energy needs.
